[POTD] You jelly?

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! This was actually yesterdays nail but I only got around posting it now. Such a failure. Nonetheless, here it is.

It's a yummy jelly sandwich! I used Essie a cut above squished between OPI don't touch my tutu to create a "suspended" glitter look. This is my first time doing a jelly sandwich and I'm quite happy with it.

What are you favourite jelly polishes?

Hi everyone!

Sorry! I know I haven't been posting for the past week/2 weeks and I have a perfectly acceptable reason for this! I've been in Cuba! Now that I'm back and super tanned, I am ready to post... starting tomorrow (:

Just want to share with you a picture from Cuba... I'll probably share more along the way but here's one for now.

We got to play with a baby dolphin! He's three years old and his name is Nemo. Oh and that's the boyfriend. I already told him that I want a dolphin for Christmas! Anyway, while I was gone, I got a ton of mail goodies that I'll be trying out the next few days and will be posting them up as well. But for now, I need sleep cause I'm back to work tomorrow *sad face* Hope everyone did well on their exams!

Glymm box review

Hope everyone had a pleasant week so far. I have a bit on time on my hands today so I am going to do a review on my first Glymm box.

First off, product list and how much the full sizes are, here’s a scan of the card that came with my box.

Here is what I received:
Lucia Soap No. 1 – 1 soap $2.19
Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine Fragrance – Doesn’t tell me the amount so let’s say 2.5mL so $5.00
Free your mane – Sulfate Free Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner – 7.5mL x 2 = 14mL $0.75
Mai Couture Social Gloss – Full size $28.00
NuMe - $100 gift card

Total: $135.94

My verdict: Not bad considering I paid $10. It’s nice that they threw in a “bonus” being the NuMe gift card – a company that sells professional styling tools & hair extensions. That’s great – but the problem is everything on that website is so expensive! The price for a hair curler is $135 and let me tell you guys, with shipping ($15) adds up to $150 minus gift card = $50. I won’t even pay that much for a hair curler so no, I won’t be using this card. If any of you guys want to check this website out go, click here. The code is: NUME100.

I haven’t tried any of their other products yet. Mainly because I don’t use lipgloss and soap dries out my skin like crazy! Haha, I sound like a diva. But let me assure, I am not! Anyway, I am disappointed. I don’t know why I had such high expectation. I will continue for another month and see how it goes.

Have you tried any of these products? Hope everyone is doing well! I can’t wait for the weekend!

***update*** I tried the shampoo & conditioner this morning and I love it! My hair is very soft and silky feeling. But would I pay that price for it? Probably not. I wish the sample size had more than just 7.5mL per package because I have VERY THICK hair and it's really long (down to my back) so yes, that sample wasn't enough for my massive mane haha

Konadlicious is having a massive giveaway! If you haven't checked it out yet... what are you waiting for!? Find her here and good luck!

Make-up monthly review box!

Right when I am about to start studying I hear some noise outside my house. Being the creeper that I am I peeked out my window and took a picture. * GASP * It’s the mailman and he has NAIL MAIL for me! There goes my motivation to study. Out the window!

So here it is, my second make-up monthly box. If you haven’t heard of make-up monthly, it’s like many of the beauty boxes on the market and you have 3 choices (nail club, cosmetic club or beauty care club) for $20 a month. If you want to see what I got the first month you can read about it here.

This month, I received 3 full size nail polish, 2 OPI and 1 Essie. I am quite happy with the Essie because I've been meaning to buy a new black but this just saved me the trip but the two OPI's are very generic. At first glance, I thought it was OPI Pedal Faster Suzi. I paid for a 3-month subscription so I will most likely not continue after my 3 months especially because the colours seems to be so dated.

OPI Dozen Rosas and All That Razz-Berry and Essie Licorice

Anyway, must study. Oh, I also got my first Glymm box today but I will do a review on it after my finals. Do you sign up for any beauty boxes? If so, which one and do you like it?

Thanks for reading!

How to keep your nail polish fresh!

It’s frustrating when you spend so much money on little bottles of goodness and they gunk up on you or they’re sealed shut after a few use. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to keep your nail polish fresh for longer!

1. I know that many of us has heard that if our nail polish gunk up, just drip a few drops of nail polish remover in it and voila! It’s gunk free! I’m not going to lie, I’ve done this many times but it wasn’t until a few months ago that I learned that, that is a complete no-no! Adding nail polish remover in your polishes will decrease the bond between the polish and your nail. What you should to is purchase nail polish thinner and that should do the trick.

2. Store your nail polishes away from direct heat and sunlight. When polish is exposed to heat, they thicken and become difficult to apply. An optimal location is somewhere cool and dry.

3. How about storing them in the fridge? I’ve heard people storing it in the fridge. I personally do not do it, but keep in mind that when you’re ready to use it, rub it between your palms so it will be easier to apply.

4. Do not shake your nail polish before you apply it! This cause air bubbles in the polish and once you put it on, a little bugger might end up on your perfect mani! Instead, roll it gently between your palms. If you must shake it (because it’s thick or you need to mix the colours), do it then let it sit for 30 minutes so all the air bubble can rise.

5. Cap stuck on? Take a cup (preferably ones that you don’t/won’t use anymore) and pour enough nail polish remover so that when you put your nail polish upside down in it, it will cover the cap. The dried up nail polish making your cap stuck on should loosen up.

6. Want to avoid your cap being stuck on in the future? Apply some petroleum jelly around the neck of the bottle. This will prevent it from drying and caking up on the neck/cap.

7. Nail polishes usually last around 2 years. So be realistic and toss the old ones out. I’ve tried salvaging old ones but end up making a big mess!

I hope this helps! Are there any tips and tricks you guys use? Do share :D !! Thanks for reading!
